    Join other  FOUNDRY members as we meet with our sponsoring church, Foothills UMC, to discuss the future of this faith-life community.  We have been worshiping together in our new home for six months!  This will be a chance to update Foothills on all the good things happening at FOUNDRY and help lay the groundwork for the next six months…and beyond!

    The first Thursday of each month, Pastor Christian sets aside a Thursday evening to share a drink and appetizers with anyone who wants to explore a relationship with this faith-life community.  This is a great chance to learn more about FOUNDRY and its leaders — and it’s a perfect opportunity for us to get to know you!  On June 6, we will meet at EastLake Tavern+Bowl at 6:30 p.m.

    Coffee With The Pastor

    Every other month, Pastor Christian sets aside a Wednesday morning and Thursday evening to share a cup of coffee with anyone who wants to explore a relationship with this faith-life community.  This is a great chance to learn more about FOUNDRY and its leaders — and it’s a perfect opportunity for us to get to know you!  In June, we will meet at Cool Down Coffee  at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19; and also on Thursday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m.

    Community Campout Fun!

    For the third year in a row, FOUNDRY team members will help out at Montevalle’s Snores & S’mores Community Campout.  We serve dinner and help set up tents at this annual, fun event!  Help is needed beginning at 2 p.m. and then on into the evening.  Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, set up a tent yourself and plan to spend the night!  The registration form will be posted on this website when it is available.

    Summer Movie Nights!

    The final Friday of each summer month, FOUNDRY proudly sponsors a free, outdoor, family movie night at Montevalle Recreation Center .  Families are invited to bring picnic blankets and chairs to the center’s soccer field and watch a movie on a giant movie screen.  In cooperation with Chula Vista’s Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, movies are chosen that tie in with books that students are reading in school.  Snacks and drinks are provided as well as special prizes for children who have read the book.

    Means of Grace is FOUNDRY’s newest small group/class offering. Join us Wednesday evenings, beginning April 10 at 6:30 as we study scripture together and invest in one another’s lives.

    Mastering the Mysteries of Love

    Certified class leader, Melissa Spence is leading this four-week series that teaches couples and singles how to communicate in relationships. Offered free to the public thanks to a Federal grant, you will want to take advantage of this invaluable tool in mining the intricacies of love. To register, email Melissa@foundryotayranch.org. Meeting times are from 1-5PM on January 27, February 10 and February 17 and February 24.

    Imposition of Ashes

    Wednesday, February 13 is Ash Wednesday.  Join us for worship at 6:30PM as we begin the Lenten countdown to Easter with the traditional Imposition of Ashes.  Childcare will be provided for ages two and up.

    You are invited to FOUNDRY’s five week Lenten study, which begins Wednesday evening, February 20 at 6:30PM.  Pastor Christian will lead us through The Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations.

    Help at Women’s Resource Fair

    On March 9, FOUNDRY volunteers will help out at Golden Hall’s Annual Women’s Resource Fair for homeless and indigent women and their children.  More than 800 women and 160 children and teens are expected to attend to get help from medical, legal and social service organizations.  Volunteers are still needed to help with childcare, hospitatlity, food service, etc.  Contact valerie@foundryotayranch if you want to help serve with the FOUNDRY tream from 7 a.m. to noon.

    Cookie Bakers Needed!

    Kairos Prison Ministry Retreat at RJ Donovan Prison is coming up and we need cookies to bring to the men incarcerated there.  Every year, these men are shown support and grace from bakers willing to make homemade treats.  If you can bring cookies to church on March 10, we will make sure they are distributed the following week.  The countywide goal is to gather 3.500 dozen cookies….you can help!

    Progressive Dinner

    We’ve worshiped together and we’ve studied together.  It’s time to share a meal together!  Saturday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. we will meet at the home of Gina and Michael Bennett to begin our progressive dinner.  Two other homes will host other courses of our meal and it will be a great time to learn more about the other members of our FOUNDRY family.     All-Church Meeting

    After four months of holding worship services in our new space, it is time to assess where we are as a congregation and strategize for our future. Using the framework of Robert Schnase’s Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, we will examine Biblical principles for successful ministry and apply them to FOUNDRY.  This is a pivotal time in our church’s development, and all FOUNDRY family members are encouraged to attend at 6:30PM

    Easter Sunrise Service

    Join FOUNDRY for our third year celebrating the resurrection overlooking beautiful Otay Lake at Mountain Hawk Park. You won’t want to miss watching the sun peek over Mount Miguel as Pastor Christian leads in communion and worship. This year, make Foundry part of your family’s meaningful Easter tradition! Mountain Hawk Park is at 1475 Lake Crest Park in Chula Vista.

    Banjos and Brunch

    Sunday morning service will be a new experience on April 14 when we welcome Rachel Aldous and Road Home to Banjos and Brunch at FOUNDRY.  In addition to a hot breakfast, join us for a time of music that the band calls, “Down home, West Texas, folk-country-praise fusion.”  No  Sunday school will be offered that day because your kids will want to be part of the fun!  Invite your friends to this rousing morning of celebration and worship.

    Serve Tijuana School

    On April 20, a FOUNDRY team will join in the monthly crew that goes south of the border to help build the La Roca school for impoverished area children. We will meet at FOUNDRY at 7 a.m. and should return between 3 and 4 p.m. The work to be done is heavy (moving soil, digging, construction) but the joy of serving lightens the heart! All participants must bring passports.

    I Love a Clean San Diego

    It’s time for ILACSD’s Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup and FOUNDRY is proud to send a team to Otay Lake to keep the park area looking great!  Join the FOUNDRY team  on Saturday, April 27th at 2270 Wueste Rd. as we pick up trash and help restore the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding picnic areas.  Click here to sign-up.
